Hazers Shake Things Up at Vegas Rio

Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has selected Look Solutions’ Unique Haze Machines for its showroom and Chippendales’ Theatre, home of the famous steamy male revue.
Teamed with an extensive array of moving lights, the hazers create atmosphere and model lighting, gobos and beams in the showroom, whose current attraction is Greg Thomson’s Erocktica, and the Chippendales’ Theatre. The showroom converts to Club Rio for latenight entertainment.
The Unique2 hazers feature DMX control; minimal noise and warm-up time; variable output adjustable in1% increments; easy button control; and minimal fluid consumption for low running costs and optimal haze effect. “We are extremely pleased with the Uniques,” reports Technical Director Mark Testa of Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. “We used to use oil-based hazers from another manufacturer and were unhappy with the residue that collects in the machines as well as in our lights. With the water-based Uniques we don’t have that issue and we can extend the time period between cleaning the moving fixtures.
Testa also notes that “because the showroom has a very unusual airflow pattern, we felt we had to use oil-based hazers to allow the haze to hang in the air. But the output of the Unique hazers hangs in the air just like we want it to. We not only get the haze effects we want but also don’t have to deal with the safety issue of oil in the air that dissipates elsewhere in the room.”
